Out: The exit at the SE corner of the intersection is next to an elementary school, with a pleasant mural of kids playing, whales, flowers, etc. There is also a good view down a hill to the east, revealing part of Bronx in the morning light. The housing around here is a mix of tenements and some brownstones is reasonable condition. In the vicinity there are also some projects as well as a Masonic temple, surprisingly enough. There’s another old building which has been converted to a parking lot. Quite a diverse (unexpectedly so) intersection. Outside the people are similar to 163rd, with mostly Hispanic a few black, but there are also a few gentrifiers here on their way to work.
