C Train - 155 St. (Day 2, stop #53)

Out:  The exit at the SE corner of the intersection is next to an elementary school, with a pleasant mural of kids playing, whales, flowers, etc.  There is also a good view down a hill to the east, revealing part of Bronx in the morning light.  The housing around here is a mix of tenements and some brownstones is reasonable condition.  In the vicinity there are also some projects as well as a Masonic temple, surprisingly enough.  There’s another old building which has been converted to a parking lot.  Quite a diverse (unexpectedly so) intersection.  Outside the people are similar to 163rd, with mostly Hispanic a few black, but there are also a few gentrifiers here on their way to work.

In:  The station is similar to 163rd St. on the platform level.  The mezzanine level is quite long and wide, and there are also closed off exits.  The main exit is directly underneath the intersection of 155th and St. Nicholas, with exits to three of its 4 corners.
