J Train - Halsey St. (Day 8, stop #345)

Out:
The neighborhood looks somewhat better than Chauncey, but overall unremarkable.  There’s a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Popeye’s, a deli, and a fish market.  There’s also a couple of West Indian places.  The people around are mostly black (could be African-American or West Indian), with some Hispanic.  The neighborhood is still pretty rough, but the houses are in somewhat better shape than at Chauncey and there are actually kids around on the street, which indicates that it may be slightly nicer.  The residential buildings are either small houses or apartment buildings in brick, for the most part.

In:  Similar to Chauncey.
