Out: The exit here is right next to South Ferry, at the southern tip of Manhattan . There are many tall buildings, as well as office workers and tourists of all kinds.
In: This station has a two platform, three track layout, where the W train lays up on the middle track at the end of its line and the R travels on the outside tracks. There are white tiles on the sides of the walls, and metal columns in green. There’s an intricate tile mosaic picture of a houe/church on the side walls. The station looks recently renovated. I take a long escalator up to the exit, and on the walls of the escalator are great 3-D tile scenes of early New York life.
