Out: Ethnically, I see a mix here of black, Hispanic, and white gentrifiers. There is a big church on the corner, but otherwise there are mostly three story row houses. Most of the houses look to be well-maintained. There is a check cashing spot and a deli on the corner. The bridge over 4th Ave. for the train stop is pretty imposing here.
In: This station is also elevated and in decent shape. It smells damp, with wide light green tiling on the mezzanine and stairways. The platform has yellow brick walls and a rusting awning with no columns. There’s no place to see over the side. The station house opens out onto street level under the elevated tracks; there’s also a connection to the R line underground.
