Out: The exit to the station is right by a housing project.  At the intersection there is also a gas station.  The people around are mostly black, with some African and Hispanic.  There is a majestic church here, with a stone rectangular tower and a green dome on top.  There are also a number of red brick apartment buildings at the corner of 138 St. & Alexander.  This is in the Mott Haven neighborhood, which was one of the first inhabited parts of the Bronx, according to a historical marker here.
